Join Our Community Choir
At Sing Gospel, we welcome everyone to experience the joy of gospel music, regardless of experience or background. Our rehearsals are held twice a month at Acton Baptist Church, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and are always filled with energy and passion. Accompanied by a live band, we work together to create powerful, uplifting music in a supportive, community-driven atmosphere.
You don’t need any prior singing experience to join us—just a love for music and a willingness to sing your heart out. Our choir is open to all, and there’s no audition process. We sing in three sections—Soprano, Alto, and Tenor—and if you’re unsure where you fit, we’ll happily help you find your vocal range when you arrive. Whether you’re a Tenor with a range of C3 to F4, an Alto between A3 and B4, or a Soprano from D4 to E5, we’ll make sure you feel right at home.
How to Join Us
Joining Sing Gospel is easy! Just show up, pay £12 at the door (we accept both cash and card), and you’re in! If it’s your first time, be sure to introduce yourself to Bert as you arrive—he’ll help you find your section, introduce you to a few choir members, and make sure you feel comfortable. There’s always a party atmosphere at our rehearsals, so expect plenty of fun and camaraderie as we prepare for our summer and Christmas concerts.

The Music We Sing
Our repertoire spans the rich history of gospel music, from traditional choruses to contemporary gospel anthems. Some of the artists who inspire us include Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee, Judith Christie McAllister, The Hawkins Family, James Cleveland, London Community Gospel Choir, and Mark Beswick.
Together, we dive into the heart and soul of gospel, making each rehearsal a moving and memorable experience.

Our Learning Style
At Sing Gospel, we learn everything by ear—no sheet music or lyric sheets. This traditional gospel approach not only helps the music settle naturally in your mind, but also encourages us to listen closely to one another and follow the conductor in the time-honored gospel tradition. It’s an immersive, communal way to experience the music, helping us to create a truly cohesive and spirited sound.
Accessibility
We’re proud to rehearse at Acton Baptist Church, a fully accessible venue with easy access and an accessible toilet available for anyone who needs it. We strive to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included at Sing Gospel.
Stay Connected
We also encourage all members to join our WhatsApp community, where you’ll receive weekly updates, rehearsal reminders, and access to additional resources to help you stay connected and engaged.
