We're seriously considering getting our driveway redone, and the resin bound gravel options look really appealing. I'm trying to weigh up all the positives and negatives before we commit. I like the idea that it's supposed to be low maintenance and look modern, but I'm also a bit worried about the cost, and whether it's actually as durable as they claim. We live in an area that gets a lot of rain, so permeability is a big concern too. What are people's real-world experiences with these driveways? Are there any hidden downsides that I should be aware of before making a decision?

Having had one for a few years now, overall I'd say the pros outweigh the cons, but it's definitely worth doing your research. The main advantage is definitely how it looks – so much nicer than plain concrete or block paving. The permeability is also great; we haven't had any issues with standing water, even during heavy downpours. One thing to consider is whether you want to go for professional installation or attempt it yourself using one of the Diy Kits; I personally went with a professional to ensure a high-quality finish. Initial expense is high, but think of it as an investment.
